THE BRIEF

Laura’s old website was lacking a sense of identity and had no way for users to access available works. The brief was to create a completely new brand identity for Laura that felt high-end, understated and timeless to reflect her own aesthetic and the work that she represents. The site needed to operate as a portfolio that clearly communicates what Laura does, where she’s showing work and which pieces are available to purchase. The overall feel is quietly contemporary with a palette of the strong, warm colours that Laura loves. The site layout is easy to navigate and brings the art and artists to the forefront.

  • Before

Laura’s old website was lacking a sense of identity and had no way for users to access available pieces. The branding didn’t reflect the premium nature of Laura’s work and the site contained minimal content.

  • During

The brief was to incorporate strong colours into a brand identity that felt timeless and high-end but still contemporary. I created a primary logo with a classic feel and a more modern, stacked, brand mark that can be used interchangeably in a palette of rich cornflower blue, pine green and strong burgundy.

  • After

The finished site feels sophisticated and crisp with visual impact coming from the strong colours and the artworks themselves. The layout is contemporary and fresh and makes it easy for users to browse artists and enquire about individual available works.
